The word ‘reverted’ in tradescantia, or any other plants, is used to describe a cultivar that returns or goes back to it’s original form. We look at the plants’ physical features and qualities such as its colors and shapes.

The word ‘variegated’ means having different colors and streaks or patches.
A variegated tradescantia plant that reverts to just green (only one color) leaves is not possible again to reverse back to being variegated unless you prune the stem. There is a great amount of success, and anyone who owned a variegated tradescantia for a while now can back me up on this, that your ‘reverted’ tradescantia plant can get its variegation back when you cut the stem to encourage NEW variegated growth given the right living condition.
T. zebrina ‘Quadricolor
This is however isn’t always true when we talk about the zebrina quadricolors. This is the only tradescantia plant that doesn’t need to be cut in order to get it’s variegation back. A ‘reverted’ quad leaf/stem can ‘turn back’ to having that pink, cream, and purple hues we all love when given the right living condition WITHOUT having to prune the stems.
